This assignment was given to familiarize the class with the pen tool. We sketched out our idea then scanned and vectorized our work in Illustrator. I decided to place my character in a bottle for two reasons, neither one thouroughly explored or executed. I first thought my design could look cool as a logo used on a packaging label and found it would fit perfectly on a glass bottle. I never finished this idea, though, and quickly went for another one. I thought of using a clever line of copy as part of the design which would read "giraffe in a bottle" as a take on "genie in a bottle", but I found it wasn't actually as clever as I thought and most people probably wouldn't get it in one read.
The second part of this project was to animate the vector character into a gif.
At the end of the day, I'm really proud of my first work with the pen tool and think I learned a lot from my brainstorming process.
